Uni Freiburg - Venue Spaces
Thanks to the valued cooperation between the University of Freiburg, ISES, and IEA SHC, EuroSun2026 will be held in the University’s historic Kollegiengebäude I (KG I), located at Platz der Universität 3, 79098 Freiburg im Breisgau.
KG I is centrally situated in Freiburg’s Old Town, directly on Platz der Universität and in close proximity to both the university library and the cafeteria. To host our sessions, nine rooms within the building will be available, including the impressive Entrance Hall for the poster sessions, the Prometheus Hall for coffee breaks, and, immediately adjacent, the distinguished Aula.
Throughout the building, visitors will encounter historical monuments and inscriptions that reflect the university’s long and complex past, while also illustrating the institution’s contemporary engagement with its own history. As a result, KG I serves not only as an architectural landmark but also as a historical site and a testament to the evolving academic and cultural identity of the University of Freiburg.
